“When a hazardous situation, such as an arc, causes internal pressure to rapidly rise, it is critical that the enclosure does not open in an uncontrolled manner and cause damage to the surrounding area. Secure and reliable components are the best way to ensure safety, protection and functionality.
Fortunately, DIRAK is introducing two products that can help mitigate these risks and properly secure enclosures that may be exposed to high pressures: our new Pressure-Tight System and space saving 90° redirect for flat rods.”
Thorsten Küster, Design
By using two offset set screws instead of the traditional one, the new Pressure-Tight System from DIRAK offers the most reliable solution on the market for securing high pressure environments.
The advantage: the first set screw makes it easy to position the fitting correctly on the flat rod. When the second, offset, set screw is screwed in part of the thread is etches into the flat rod, ensuring the fitting remains secured in place. Because there is positive-locking between the fitting and the flat rod, which prevents the fitting and Locking Pin remain in place over the lifetime of the product.
This makes unintentional release impossible.
Each locking point can be installed individually and independently of each other, meaning you can use as many as you need to provide adequate strength to meet your applications need.
Additionally, due to the symmetrical design of the unit, the Locking Pin can be installed in either direction, further increasing design possibilities with a universal assembly.
Due to its flat design and compact shape, this 90° redirect for use with flat rods can be installed even with limited space conditions.
The Redirect is designed to be secured to an M6 stud by a sleeve nut (included with delivery).
The rectangular bar mount allows for quick assembly, by simply attaching the flat rod at a 45° angle and rotating into place, eliminating additional hardware or installation tools.
The redirect transfers the entire 24mm stroke of a rod latch into the new direction. This ensures the full movement of the system’s components to make certain there is a secure and reliable locking.
The new 90° Redirect in combination with the new Pressure-Tight System is the perfect solution for securing doors in high pressure environments.
Thanks to the compact design and use of flat rods, assembly is even possible on the outer edge of the door. That makes it ideal to lock even large and heavy housing doors reliably and uniformly.
Did you know? When explosion resistant locking isn’t required, the 90° Redirect can also be combined with conventional rod latches that use a double hook for latching.
Reliable and compatible for many industries, the Pressure-Tight System and 90° Redirect for multi-point locking systems can be adapted to a wide range of different applications but is especially well suited for large enclosures and high-pressure environments.
